Bluewater District School Board is pleased to announce that, effectively immediately, Paul Hambleton has been appointed to the position of Superintendent of Education until June 30, 2017. This follows the recent appointment of Superintendent of Education Alana Murray to the position of Director of Education.
Hambleton began his teaching career in Bruce County in 1982 and served as a vice-principal and principal in a variety of Bluewater schools. He has recently worked in a variety of portfolios at the system level, including school effectiveness; early years; safe and accepting schools; student success; First Nation, Métis and Inuit programming; and leadership development.
"I am very pleased to have the opportunity to serve the students, parents, and staff of Bluewater District School Board in the capacity of Superintendent of Education," says Hambleton. "I am eager to partner with parents and staff to support the achievement and well-being of all our students."
"Paul's broad expertise across several educational areas, combined with his many years of leadership experience, will help to advance the important public education priorities in Bluewater District School Board. We are looking forward to working with him as he assumes his new system responsibilities," says Director of Education Alana Murray.
A permanent Superintendent of Education will be selected later this year to be in effect for September 2017.
