On March 31, 2017, at approximately 6:58 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break-in at the Dairy Daughter Gas Bar located on Toronto St. S., Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Surveillance video depicted a male using a hatchet to smash the glass front door at approximately 4:45 a.m. Two males, wearing dark clothing, entered and went directly to the cash registers. When they discovered there was no cash inside, the suspects fled on foot and were last seen heading northbound.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information which may assist to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
