The Owen Sound Police Service jumped on their bicycles with local youth and pedalled their way to help raise more than $15,000.00 to help benefit children affected by cancer. They joined hundreds of students in the fundraising effort to help support the Childcan cancer charity.
Since 1974, Childcan has provided responsive and compassionate support services for families living in south western Ontario and facing the challenging journey through childhood cancer - from diagnosis, treatment, recovery or bereavement. One of Childcan's missions is to relieve families of everyday financial burdens in the hopes that it will allow them to focus on their child's care and treatment.
The Owen Sound Police team registered twenty kilometres in the one-hour timed event falling a whopping 10km behind the winning distance. They did however, receive the medal for the most money raised by an individual male rider.
This photograph depicts some of the riders, organizers and volunteers that participated in the 'InsideRide' at the Owen Sound District Secondary School (OSDSS).
