On April 21, 2017 at approximately 1:26 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break, enter and theft of firearms from a residence on Osprey Street North, in the Township of Southgate.
The suspect had fled the residence, with the stolen firearms, when the homeowner was awakened and confronted the suspect.
Description of stolen firearms:
- Chiappa M1 10-22 calibre carbine with a brown wood stock
- Ruger bolt-action .22 calibre, black synthetic stock with a spider pattern
- French antique silver/chrome revolver
Description of suspect:
- male, approximately 5'8" tall, wearing a camouflage jacket and a dark coloured scarf or balaclava
There were no injuries reported.
Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the Grey County Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit - Mount Forest, continues to investigate and ask anyone with information that may assist police, to call the OPP at-1-888-310-1122.
