no-swimupdate-fullWater samples taken at Northwinds Beach (Blue Mountains) show results within acceptable levels according to Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards. Unfortunately, those taken at Kelso Beach (Owen Sound), and Little River Beach Park (Thornbury) remained at levels above the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples Wednesday, July 30. Based on these results, Northwinds, which was posted as unsafe on July 25, 2014, is now deemed safe for bathing. Kelso Beach and Little River Beach Park which were also posted as unsafe on July 25, remain posted, as the most recent sample results are still above acceptable levels

The public is reminded that water conditions can change quickly. The high winds and heavy rain are likely to have an adverse impact on water quality.

Beach information is updated as conditions change at: http://www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca/Water/Recreational/PublicBeaches/Current-Status-Listings.htm
