Following an in-depth hiring process, Bluewater District School Board is pleased to announce that Paul Hambleton has been appointed to the position of Superintendent of Education effective May 17, 2017. Paul has been fulfilling this role on an interim basis since the appointment of Superintendent of Education Alana Murray to the position of Director of Education this past March.
Paul's more than 30 years of experience in education includes serving in the capacities of teacher, vice-principal and principal in a variety of Bluewater schools. In recent years, his work at the system level has involved a wide range of diverse portfolios, such as early years, curriculum K-12, safe and accepting schools, indigenous education, and new teacher development.
"We appreciate the expertise and level of commitment that Paul has brought to our senior leadership team over the past few months. It is a pleasure to welcome him permanently as he assumes the role of Superintendent of Education," says Director of Education Alana Murray.
As Superintendent of Education, Paul's responsibilities will include an area of schools, in addition to a portfolio comprised of a number of system responsibilities.
