It is somehow a bit odd at how quickly an event like a ribbon cutting occurs. For about 20 minutes today, our care team, volunteers, Board members stood alongside the Chapman family, dignitaries and supporters for a brief ceremony. But the reality is Chapman House has been years in the making. Long before there was the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, there has been a dedicated team of passionate health care leaders doing offering end-of-life care in other settings. Today is only possible because of people like them who spent countless hours in the community practicing their care and pushing for a facility like this. It is almost like for every minute we spent today celebrating, there was a year of hard work.
We are so excited to share our project with the community.
Public tours continue tomorrow (Saturday) between 10am and 3pm.
We have a fundraising gala Saturday night at Cobble Beach beginning at 8pm (tix only $50!)
On Sunday we are holding a memorial service for families and friends who knew someone in our care in our location at Seasons at 2pm.
Come see what you helped build!
