The Board of Directors for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce our new Executive Director, Amy McKinnon. Amy begins her new role on Monday, June 26th, replacing Paul Weitendorf who retired earlier this year.
Amy comes to the Foundation from the Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation where she worked since 2007 as Director, Development Research & Strategic Analysis and Privacy Officer. As a member of the Senior Leaders' Team, Amy played a key role in the development of the Foundation's strategic and operating plans. During her tenure with TG&WHF, Amy held the position of Interim Director of Major Gifts.
Amy has close to 20 years of professional fundraising experience in both the health care and non-profit sectors. She started her fundraising career with the Vancouver General & UBC Hospital Foundation before returning to Ontario and joining the Royal Ontario Museum's team during their $270 million capital campaign. Amy holds a Master of Information Studies, and a Certified Fundraising Executive designation.
Amy grew up in Amberley near Kincardine, and is excited to return to her roots and family and support the community she calls home. She recently relocated to Georgian Bluffs with her husband James.
"We look forward to having Amy back in the community to share her wealth of philanthropic experience with our staff and team of volunteers," said Torben Hawksbridge, Foundation Chairman.
The Board would like to thank Lori Morrison and Willard VanderPloeg who managed Foundation activities during the transition.
The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation raises funds for urgently needed equipment at the hospital and last year, through generous contributions from a supportive community, provided more than $2 million to Grey Bruce Health Services.
