Soon students will be out of school for their summer break so motorists can expect to see an increase in the amount of pedestrian and bicycle traffic on our streets.
Motorists are reminded to drive with care, especially near parks and recreation centres. When coming upon pedestrians or bicycles, give them space, slow down and keep an eye out for children playing near the street.
Parents and caregivers are urged to talk to children about pedestrian safety, bicycle safety and how to be safe around pools or open water.
