On August 10, 2017 at approximately 5:48 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a body found in the Beaver River north of Grey Rd. 13 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The body was located by kayakers.

The OPP West Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT) with the assistance of the Town of Blue Mountains Fire Department recovered the body of a deceased female.

The deceased female has been identified as 81-year-old Norma Nicholson of the Blue Mountains. She was reported missing by family June 29, 2017.

Next of kin have been notified and police investigation is complete, foul play is not suspected.
