Motor vehicle collisions keep Owen Sound Police busy.
The Owen Sound Police Service was kept busy Thursday after a number of motor vehicle collisions. Around 10:15 AM the Owen Sound Police Service, Owen Sound Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to a two vehicle crash at 6th Street East and 3rd Avenue East.
Two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance where they were treated and released for minor injuries. A 35 year old Pickering man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield.
Around 2:45 PM the Owen Sound Police Service, Fire Department and EMS responded to a two vehicle crash on 10th Street East hill at 8th Avenue East. Both drivers were transported to the Grey Bruce Health Services with minor injuries.
The eastbound lanes of 10th Street East were closed for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleared. A 17-year-old Markdale area woman was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield to traffic.
Owen Sound Police are also investigating a fail to remain.
Between 11:45 AM and 12:30 PM, a black Dodge Caravan that had been parked in front of Food Basics was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. The Caravan received significant damage and it is believed that the vehicle responsible broke a taillight in the collision. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to contact Constable Bill Ringel at 519-376-1234 ext. 162.
