Two vehicle collision results in minor injuries.
On 31 August 2017 at approximately 1:20 pm the Owen Sound Police Service along with Owen Sound Fire and EMS attended to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 10th Street West and 3rd Avenue West.
The investigation revealed that a 1996 GMC pickup truck was travelling west bound on 10th Street West. The truck, which was being driven by a 17 year old Tara resident turned left onto 3rd Avenue West across the path of an east bound 2007 Ford Focus. Although the pickup truck only received minimal damage the Ford Focus is believed to be a write off.
The 65 year old driver of the Ford Focus and her 72 year old passenger were treated at hospital for non life threatening injuries. The Ford Focus was towed from the scene.
The 17 year old male was charged with left turn, fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
