The Owen Sound Police are investigating a series of thefts from vehicles overnight in the west side of the city.

Police were alerted shortly before 2:00 a.m. by a resident in the 1800 block of 6th Avenue West to youths entering a neighbour's property and attempting to enter vehicles. The caller provided a description of the youths and police responded to the area where the residents identified one of the youths to officers.

A 14 year old youth who resides in Owen Sound was arrested and charged with Trespassing by night and possession of property obtained by crime after being found in possession of electronics, change and tools taken from vehicles on the west side.

The youth was released into the custody of a parent and will appear in Owen Sound Youth Court in October.
