On September 25, 2017 at 6:40 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police received a theft report from a residence in the 600 block of Bruce County Road 7 in Huron Township.
A Green GMC Sierra pick-up truck with licence #AM22608 was taken at 6:40 p.m., the owner saw the truck being driven away. The paint is peeling on the passenger side and there is a dark green tonneau cover over the bed of the truck. At the time of the theft, there were tools in the bed of the truck including: a Turquoise Makita air compressor, an Orange Bostitch nailer, a Yellow and Black Stanley nailer, and a shingle ripper. The value of the stolen truck and tools is estimated to be more than $7,200.
The South Bruce OPP is reminding vehicle owners/operators about the Lock it or Lose it theft prevention tips to help protect their property:
- Always roll up your vehicle's windows, lock the door and pocket the key
- If you have a garage, use it. Lock the door and the vehicle
- Always park in a well-lit area
- Never leave valuable objects in plain view.
