opp-graphic-fullTOWN OF SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA – On August 19, 2014 at 6:40p.m. the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident in the 1100 Block of King Edward Avenue, Town of South Bruce Peninsula (Sauble Beach).

Investigation revealed that a resident in the 1100 block of King Edward Avenue had received a telephone call from an unknown person. The person indicated that there was a suspicious package in the residence.

The immediate and surrounding properties were briefly evacuated while police searched the area. An extensive search was conducted and an explosive device was not located.

Once it was determined that there was no longer a threat to public safety, the public was permitted back into the area.

The Bruce Peninsula OPP is requesting anyone who may have information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
