BPgolf-fullTIVERTON– Bruce Power's annual Charity Golf Tournament raised over $125,400 for local hospital foundations.

The Kincardine Hospital Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation will share the proceeds at the annual golf tournament, which was held at Saugeen Golf Club, on Aug. 15. The tournament has now raised more than $1.1 million for the local hospital foundations over 13 years.

The money is earmarked for mammography equipment for the imaging department and upgrades to the surgical department in Kincardine, while Saugeen will purchase a coagulation analyzer, which provides diagnostic prevention from potential heart attack-inducing blood clots.

"Bruce Power thanks everyone who plays in our Charity Golf Tournament, because they are making an enormous contribution to the quality of life for all Bruce County residents," said Duncan Hawthorne, Bruce Power President and CEO. "To have eclipsed the $1 million mark is a testament to the success of the tournament and also the giving nature of our employees and suppliers who take part each year."
