Driver caught speeding on a snow covered road.
On December 11, 2017 Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police stopped a grey GMC Yukon on Highway 6 in the area of Clavering for speeding. The vehicle was speeding at one and half times the speed limit. The highway conditions at the time of the vehicle stop were snow covered and slick. The driver, 60-year-old William Wilson of Northern Bruce Peninsula was charged with speeding, Highway Traffic Act (HTA) 128 and two charges of Driving while suspended, HTA 53.
As a result of one of the suspension charges the vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
The OPP would like to remind drivers to drive in relation to the weather conditions and to obey the posted speed limits.
"Safety on the highway is the responsibility of every motorist," says Staff Sergeant Paul Richardson, Interim Detachment Commander, Bruce Peninsula OPP.
