Two men have been charged with aggravated assault and criminal negligence.

On November 30th, 2017, at approximatley 10:30 p.m., a 38 year old man was violenty assaulted in the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound. The man was left on the roadway, badly beaten and in a semi-concious physical state. A passing vehicle unitentionally ran over the victim as he lay on the road. The injured man was taken to the ememgency room where his physical trauma was treated.

On December 13, 2017, two 28 year old Owen Sound men stand charged with the offences of Aggravated Assault and Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm. One man resides in Owen Sound and the other man frequents Owen Sound, however officially resides in Holland Centre.

As a result of the incidents, the victim suffered cuts, bruising, cracked ribs and a fracture. The victim continues to receive medical treatment and is expected to endure a lengthy recovery.

Both men will appear for a bail hearing at the Owen Sound courthouse this morning.
