South Bruce Peninsula declares the municipal office vacant.

The Council of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, after consideration of legal advice during closed session discussions, has declared the municipal council office, previously held by Mr. Craig Gammie, vacant as required under the Municipal Act, 2001.

After more than a three month absence from Council meetings, the Municipal Act, 2001 requires Council to formally declare the seat to be vacant.

Mr. Gammie last attended Council on September 5th, 2017. The first meeting Mr. Gammie was absent was September 8th, 2017. The time that has elapsed from both dates has surpassed the three month limit.

Council will consider options for filling the municipal office vacancy at its January 16, 2018 Council meeting.
