Trustees for the Bluewater District School Board accepted an offer from Barry's Construction and Insulation Ltd. for the purchase of the 23,000 square foot Derby Public School building and six acre property in Kilsyth. The bid amount was $111,490 plus HST with a closing date of February 28, 2018 or as negotiated by staff, and not to extend beyond May 30, 2018, subject to legal review.

The school was closed by the Board in 2016, citing the high cost of needed repairs and the 750-plus vacant student spaces in the area.
