Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [BRUCE PENINSULA] Update: PARTIES ARRESTED IN CONNECION TO VEHICLE THEFT 2014-09-06
(OWEN SOUND) Owen Sound City Police located the parties involved in a theft of a pickup truck in the Nicolls Gulley area of Owen Sound around 1:00p.m on September 5, 2014. The parties and the truck had been involved in a flight from Police incident in the Bruce Peninsula earlier on that date. Two persons were arrested, one a 15 year old female, and the other a 19 year old male. Outstanding is an 18 year old male who was the subject of an intensive search by Owen Sound City Police, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police, Grey County Provincial Police Canine Unit and Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) requests any assistance from the public regarding the location of this male.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE RESULTS IN PURSUIT
(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA) The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of a suspicious vehicle and three persons pushing it in the Taylor Street and Elm Street area of Wiarton shortly after seven in the morning on September 5, 2014. Police patrolled the area and located the vehicle, a black 2008 GMC Sierra pickup, plated 732 5WR at the local gas station. Police attempted to stop the vehicle after it left the gas station. The vehicle would not stop and Police engaged in a motor vehicle pursuit north of Wiarton on highway 6.
Police discontinued the pursuit north of Mar due to a construction zone, where workers were present. The descriptors of the occupants are as follows; Caucasian male driver, mid-twenties wearing a white baseball cap backwards; Caucasian female passenger front seat, late teens, shoulder length brown hair, wearing a dark colored shirt; Caucasian male, early twenties, shoulder length hair, blue jeans and a black short sleeve t-shirt.
The OPP remind the public that pursuits are strictly monitored to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
