The Owen Sound Transportation Company will host a free come-and-go Open House on the Chi-Cheemaun from 1:00 to 3:00, Tuesday, May 1st for members of the public to tour the vessel and view the many recent updates.

Only 7 more days beforethe Chi-Cheemaun Ferry departs the Owen Sound harbour with a sold-out Spring C ruise. The ship sets sail from Owen Sound for Tobermory Thursday, May 3rd at 12:00pm, and will begin the 2018 sailing season Friday, May 4th with the 8:50am departure from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island.

Interior renovations continued during the fall and winter while docked in Owen Sound. The Chi-Cheemaun’s Aft Lounge has been revamped with a more appealing and inviting layout and colours. The Aft Lounge will become the designated interpretation/ presentation space with programming being hosted by Wikwemikong Tourism and Partks Canada. Interpretation Program scheduling is being finalized with both organized but will be offered regularly throughout the season and free with ferry fares.
The Chi-Cheemaun will host, yet again, another very exciting and dynamic Dinner Cruise & Concert series. This season’s series kicks off with Shakura S’Aida on June 8th followed by the beloved Canadiana band, Trent Severn, returning to the Chi-Cheemaun for their 4th consecutive appearance on June 30th. July 18th Samantha Martin with Delta Sugar will rock the ship and an intimate and exclusive collaboration with Danny Michel & Emm Gryner is happening July 28th. The Harpoonist & Axe Murderer will perform August 16th and The Trevor MacKenzie Band will wrap up the series once again on September 14th.
After very positive feedback from the Celebrate Ontario 150 “A Month of Sundays” event series, The Owen Sound Transportation Company decided to offer this musical based event series once again during July 2018, but with some evolution. The 2018 “A Month of Sundays” event series will bring together musicians and authors with shared experienced collaborating together for the passengers onboard the Chi-Cheemaun. You can catch this series July 8th, 15th or 22nd 11:20am to 3:40pm.
Two more event favourites will make their return as well this season; the 3rd Annual Craft Brews Cruise will take place in the Fathom Five Lounge aboard the Chi-Cheemaun Saturday, June 16th from 3:40pm – 7:20pm and the Stargazer’s Delight Tour will be offered during the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower August 9th – 13th during the 10:00pm sailing.
