BLUE MOUNTAINS - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP are continuing the investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision which took place in The Blue Mountains early on Wednesday morning.
On the 24th of September 2014 at approximately 12:40am, officers along with The Blue Mountains Fire Department were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on the 10th Line just north of Grey Road 119. A passing motorist came upon a vehicle on fire in the ditch which appeared to be on its roof and called police.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze and the OPP Technical Collision Investigators were called to document and investigate the crash which resulted in the roadway being closed for several hours. The identity of the driver has not been confirmed at this time and investigation is ongoing.
Men injured in fall from barn roof
GREY HIGHLANDS – On Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a property on Concession 8 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands after three males fell from a barn roof they had been working on.
The men were attempting to erect trusses on top of the structure when the incident occurred, which was on private property.
Two of the victims, age 20 and age 69, were airlifted to hospital in Toronto with serious non-life threatening injuries. The third victim, age 30, was taken to hospital in Collingwood with minor injuries. All three were from Collingwood.
The Ministry of Labour was contacted to investigate the incident.
