[In reponse to this OSFHO statement]

We the nurses, clerical and custodial staff members of the Owen Sound Family Health Organization would like to respond to the recent statement made by the physicians of the Family Health Organization.
The percentage increase mentioned by the physicians is untrue  and not on the table; what we most recently have been offered would result in an increase in hourly rate but would be taken from our pension. We have not had a raise since 2014 and still have some employees that make barely minimum wage. In the past few years there has been a revolving door of staff; for those who leave there are very few hired to replace them. Full-time staff reception are leaving and being replaced by part-time; the work of those who have left has been put on the plate of those who remain. We have had multiple staff start and leave within a couple of weeks because the workload is unattainable and the pay is better elsewhere.
We are not requesting an enhanced benefits and pension package, that has never been our concern. What we are asking for is fair wages for all involved and ultimately that means a pay grid. The current offer that is on the table would in no way be considered fair; for example we have nurses that are $3.30/hr less than others and with their current offer would never have the opportunity to catch up to those higher paid nurses; and the current offer gives those higher paid nurses nothing.
We stand firm that what we are asking is fair. We are constantly told ''there is no money'' but that remains to be seen and it more so appears they don't want to spend it on us. We are more than willing to talk when there something on the table that doesn't mean having to fund our own raises.
