Want to shape the future of mental health and addiction services in Grey Bruce? Interested in an exciting community leadership role? The new Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce is pleased to announce that it is now recruiting for passionate and committed individuals to serve on its new board.
The new CMHA has been created through the voluntary amalgamation of the Canadian Mental Health Association - Grey Bruce, G&B House and HopeGreyBruce Mental Health and Addictions Services. The Board of the new CMHA already has some board members appointed from the three founding organizations but wants to build a diverse and skilled board by recruiting additional board members from the community.
The new Board is looking for individuals who are residents in Grey or Bruce counties that have specific expertise in the following areas: Legal, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications and Health Professionals with a strong Clinical Background. Preference will be given to individuals who have lived experience with mental health and/or addictions issues or who are passionate about improving mental health and addiction services in Grey Bruce.
Board members will be expected to attend monthly board meetings plus some committee work. New board members can look forward to: building a new strategic plan for the CMHA; participating in governance training and other volunteer development activities; and interesting discussions with board colleagues about how best to design a future service and support system that best meets the needs of clients and families that are struggling with mental health and/or addiction problems.
If you are interested, please send your resume and a cover letter about why you would like to serve on the new CMHA board to: Julie Moore at [email protected] no later than August 17, 2018. We will be scheduling interviews with prospective board members in August. The Board nominating committee looks forward to meeting with you.
