Grey County has appointed Michael Letourneau to the position of Director of Legal Services. The new role will oversee the County's legal matters and risk management program and will provide advice to Grey County Council and senior staff. The Director will work with external counsel and will also manage prosecution at the Grey Bruce Provincial Offences Court. Mr. Letourneau's first day with Grey County will be October 22.
"Like all municipalities, Grey County needs legal advice on day-to-day business and to help manage the many risks and liabilities of local government," said Grey County Warden Stewart Halliday. "We are pleased to welcome Michael to the Grey County team. His experience and expertise will be a tremendous benefit to the people of Grey County."
Mr. Letourneau joins Grey County from a large private practice where he worked with a range of private and public sector clients. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, he was Called to the Bar of Ontario in 2013. Further, Mr. Letourneau achieved a certificate in public procurement law and practice from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2014.
