The Owen Sound Police Services Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Ambrose as Chief of Police, replacing Chief Bill Sornberger, who is retiring after some 42 years of policing.
Inspector Craig Ambrose is currently with the Waterloo Regional Police Service serving in their Intelligence Bureau. The search for a new Chief began in September and concluded this morning with Inspector Ambrose’s hiring completed. Inspector Ambrose has ties to the community already with family living in the City.
Police Board Chairman Garth Pierce stated. “It was an exhaustive search but I am pleased with our selection knowing Craig is an outstanding police leader. He will be a perfect fit for our organization. I look forward to working with him.”
Inspector Ambrose will begin his new role on Monday 21 January 2019.
