The Board of Directors for Grey Bruce Health Services has appointed Maureen Solecki as Interim President and CEO for a six-month term, beginning on February 8, 2019.
Solecki was the former President and CEO for five years until her retirement in June of 2014, and served with the Corporation in several leadership roles prior to assuming the CEO position.
“Maureen knows this organization and the healthcare landscape well, and the Board is confident that she can support staff, physicians and volunteers during this transition,” said Board Chair, Brenda Kearney.
The Board announced earlier this month that current President and CEO Lance Thurston would be stepping down in February. The Board thanks Thurston for his service to GBHS, and wishes him the best as he takes time to enjoy life outside of work.
The Board has appointed a Search Committee to find a permanent CEO to lead the organization and ensure the continued delivery of excellent healthcare at all six GBHS hospitals.
The Search Committee will begin their work immediately, and will provide updates when available.
