Howling wind, freezing rain, piles of snow - we are used to everything winter can throw here in Grey-Bruce.
But everyone deserves to be safe and warm inside their own home.
"Baby It's Cold Inside" is a fundraiser for the United Way Bruce Grey to fill up their Utility Assistance Fund for those who cannot afford the gas, electricity, propane, oil and wood to keep themselves warm this winter.
Sunday, December 7, starting at 5 p.m., a warm soup supper will be served at Georgian Shores United Church in Owen Sound, followed at 6:30 by some lively music and a few choice words to celebrate the 10 years Francesca Dobbyn has served as Executive Director of the local United Way. Donations will be welcome at the door for the United Way Utility Assistance Fund.
The evening is to build community as much as the Fund, because we will need to work together on the long-term solutions to our energy challenges. Organizers have already had amazing offers of food and help with the event and more hands will make the work lighter.
