warmth-fullOwen Sound - Community Foundation Grey Bruce will hold a press conference on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Meaford Hall to announce a significant donation from the Eva Leflar Donor Advised Fund. The donation will support food for the hungry and winter warmth initiatives for United Way of Bruce Grey, Oshare, Keystone, Bruce Grey Family & Child Services as well as 20 food banks in Grey and Bruce Counties including the two First Nation Territories.

The timely announcement comes on Giving Tuesday, a national charitable giving day, and at the close of 20th anniversary of Community Foundation Grey Bruce, a public charity and important grant making organization serving charities and not-for-profit organizations in Grey and Bruce Counties.
Representatives from these funded agencies from across Grey Bruce will be in attendance, as well as advisors from the Eva Leflar Donor Advised Fund, volunteers from the Meaford Community Fund, the media and the newly elected Meaford council.
The Meaford Community will also be initiating a Merry Christmas Meaford campaign to draw attention to the Meaford Community Fund held with Community Foundation Grey Bruce. The fund supports grant applications made to the Foundation to support projects and programs that serve the residents of the Municipality of Meaford.

Community Foundation Grey Bruce has distributed nearly $600,000 to charities and not-for-profit organizations across both counties in 2014, making it the single largest distribution in its history.
