seniorsSeniors’ Summit 2019 is coming up September 24 and 25 at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. The Seniors’ Summit explores how age-friendly communities can support the health and well-being of older adults. Registration is now open for one or both days.

The Seniors’ Summit features a keynote address by Dr. Brian Goldman, host of the CBC’s award-winning radio show White Coat, Black Art.

“We all play a role in creating a community where seniors live safely, enjoy good health and stay engaged in their communities.” explained Tanya Shute, Co-chair of the Council on Aging Grey Bruce “Older adults, caregivers, healthcare providers and community leaders can all help to create communities that are good for people of all ages”

Presented by the Council on Aging Grey Bruce, the Seniors’ Summit is a partnership of the Active Lifestyles Centre Grey-Bruce, South East Grey Community Health Centre, Grey Bruce Health Unit, Home & Community Support Services, Victorian Order of Nurses and other community health service providers.

The Seniors’ Summit kicks off 5:30 pm, Tuesday, September 24 with a keynote address and dinner. The full day session Wednesday, September 25 will again feature a keynote address by Dr. Goldman followed by breakout sessions on important topics such as housing, transportation, fraud prevention, health and well-being.
