foodThe 3rd Annual Fall Food Gathering takes place Wednesday, September 25 at the Harmony Centre, 890 4th Ave. E., Owen Sound. The Fall Food Gathering engages community members who are interested in food from both the private and public sector to act on local opportunities to improve our food system. This event brings together key players involved in food provision and is open to community groups, agencies, farmers, people with grounded expertise, retailers, grocers, advocates, gardeners, and anyone with an interest in the event.

Hosted by the Food Security Action Group of the Bruce Grey Poverty Task Force and the Grey Bruce Sustainability Network, the program for the Fall Food Gathering includes speakers from Community Food Centres Canada, Food Rescue and The Local Community Food Centre in Stratford.  Breakout sessions will explore topics including “Reinventing the Good Food Box” and “Putting Community Food Centres into Practice” as well as a session specifically for Community Garden Coordinators and gardeners and another that helps grocers and producers navigate diverting surplus food.
