At a small ceremony on Friday September 27th 2019, Joan Beecroft of Owen Sound PFLAG joined members of Grey Bruce Pride to donate LGBTQ-themed films to the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library. Tim Nicholls Harrison, CEO of the library, received the films.
The films donated by Grey Bruce Pride had been shown during 2019’s Summer of Pride Film Festival. (The Favourite, Philadelphia, Better Than Chocolate, and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) The films from Owen Sound PFLAG are in the popular Japanese anime/tranime style. They had originally been gifted to Owen Sound PFLAG by someone who had received great benefit from PFLAG’s services.
These donations expand the selection of LGBTQ-themed videos available to patrons of the library. (Winter’s not that far away. We’ll soon be curling up on the sofa on a chilly night to watch something. Why not give an anime film a look-see?)
