The contract for Aramark, the company that provides food services at Grey Bruce Health Services, will be ending in 2020. With their contract up for renewal, Freshii, a local franchise, would like to bring "a more equitable healthy food system for our hospital".

Freshii in Owen Sound is located at 1555 16th St. East and will put in a bid for a 2nd location to provide healthy food for the guests, visitors, patients and employees at the Owen Sound hospital that will be looking for a healthy foodservice provider for their cafeteria and vending machines.

Freshii serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as quick grab and go items, cold pressed juices and smoothies, made fresh every day. Their main store would continue to take care of catering and additional extras.

The family owned business with local owners Robert and Janet Meloche are asking for community support when they put in their bid to add Freshii to the hospital. "Freshii's mission is 'to help citizens of the world live better by making healthy food convenient and affordable. We think this is a great fit, and can’t wait to be apart of the hospital in the future."

They invite community members to come over to their 45 seat restaurant and see what they are all about.
