Grey Bruce Health Services is offering all patients easy access to their personal health information through an online tool called MyChart.
Developed by Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, more than 40 hospitals in Ontario participate in the MyChart program. MyChart allows patients to view test results from visits to all participating hospitals. Patients will see results from blood work, medical imaging (x-ray, CT, MRI, etc.), lab results, medications, allergies, microbiology results, discharge summaries from overnight stays, pathology and genetics reports.
In addition to viewing information from visits at participating healthcare facilities, patients can enter their own health information (allergies, weight, height, etc.), and share records with family members and other healthcare professionals.
“MyChart gives patients a convenient way to access their health records - at any time, on their own device, and from the comfort of their own home,” said Rob Lee, Chief Information Officer for GBHS. “We’re pleased to be onboard at all six GBHS hospitals and look forward to working with patients to get them connected to their health information.”
Patients can easily and quickly sign-up for MyChart when visiting a GBHS hospital. Patients must provide their health card and a valid e-mail address. Once the information is received by Sunnybrook Health Sciences, the patient will receive a PIN number via email and they will have ten days to complete their registration at www.mychart.ca.

South Bruce Grey Health Centre and Hanover and District Hospital are also working towards implementation of MyChart.
