dog bite02The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Walkerton, Ontario. On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at approximately 6:00 am, a woman was bitten by a large, fluffy black and brown dog, of undetermined breed. The incident occurred at the Tim Hortons restaurant, 10 McNabb Street, Walkerton. The biting dog was one of two dogs tied up outside the restaurant. The dogs were in the care of a woman who attempted to give her name to the victim, but the victim declined at the time.

Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
