The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (OSSTF) have jointly announced a province wide one-day full withdrawal of services on Friday, February 21, 2020.

A one-day full withdrawal of services by both ETFO and OSSTF members will significantly impact the operation of both our elementary and secondary schools, including our ability to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.

As a result, ALL ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS in Bluewater District School Board will be closed to students on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Third party child care centres will remain open on this date, and Community Education evening programs will continue to run. School based co-op placements will be cancelled, however, external co-op placements can continue. There will be no bus transportation for Bluewater District School Board students. Before and after/extended day school programs will be cancelled.

Should there be any new developments in regard to next week’s strike action by ETFO and OSSTF, we will advise you accordingly.
