In response to the Covid-19 Pandemic the United Way of Bruce Grey is launching a full volunteer engagement program and two fundraising initiatives to support the Bruce Grey community.
All funds will stay in Bruce Grey and go directly to the organizations that require more support during this time. The United Way is working directly with community leaders and agencies to ensure we are providing help where needed.
Pandemic Food Bank Fund – this fund will support food banks as they respond to an unprecedented increase in requests for food
Pandemic Community Response Fund – this fund will support other local agencies who are supporting people in our community impacted by the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Donations can be made through www.donatetoday.ca or emailed to [email protected], called into 519-376-1560 or mailed 380 9th street East Owen Sound N4K 1P1. Please no drop off donations at this time. All donations are tax deductible.
To connect people in need with resources we have launched Thedo www.thedo.ca. This is a mobile friendly simply site for people who want to volunteer, and for people who are not connected to an agency to get supports.
People sign up, then we’ll start connecting those with needs with those that are ready to help. The safety of our community will be a primary underpinning of this resource. We are developing best practices around emergency food distribution etc.
