Testing and case counts reported as of 15:30 hrs, April 18, 2020:

· 14 new cases reported in past 24 hours in Grey Bruce

· As you are all aware, we have been testing a larger segment of the population. As we are testing more, we have been expecting an increase in confirmed positive cases. Nevertheless, this spike further affirms the evidence of the community spread and that the level of risk warrants continuing practicing physical and social distancing regardless of the location in Grey and Bruce.

· As we indicated in previous Situation Reports - data on individual cases will not be reported going forward.

· 59 cases to date (current cumulative total)

· 0 cases currently hospitalized

· 11 recovered cases

· 17 cases reported in Health Care Workers working in Grey Bruce

· 1 facility in COVID-19 outbreak (reported in Long-Term Care facilities)

Actions Taken In the Past 24 Hours:

· PPE procurement and distribution network and process developed for locally identified high-needs partners including long-term care, retirement, group homes, and others congregate living locations such as women’s shelters and Community Living. Information shared with partners.

GBHU Infectious Disease (ID) Team continue with case and contact management, reporting, and responding to COVID-19 related calls
GBHU On-Call Team continue to ensure essential public health activities not related to COVID-19
