The Owen Sound Subaru Bayshore Race has made the difficult decision to cancel their 11th annual event, scheduled to take place Sunday, August 30th in Owen Sound.

“The decision to cancel our event did not come lightly,” said Race Co-Director, Greg Nicol. Race organizers and the Hospital Foundation took into account participant safety, the difficulty in exercising physical distancing throughout the event, and of course the location which is the Owen Sound Hospital.

“As always, our first concern is the safety of our racers. Although this was a difficult decision, we know it is the right decision to help slow the spread of COVID-19,” added Nicol. “Whether provincial orders are lifted or not, we believe the most responsible thing to do is to not bring a crowd together at the Hospital”.

Registrants have been contacted directly by the Foundation regarding options for registration fees paid; an option to convert fees to a charitable donation, which will be matched by OS Subaru, or a full refund.
