In respect for social distancing, the Pride flag was raised without a ceremony at Owen Sound city hall early this morning.  This is the 15th anniversary of the first Pride flag raised by the City,  initiated by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, Bluewater Local.

Since then, it was raised in 2016 by Owen Sound Police Services, after which the City revised its flag policy and raised it from 2017 onwards, at the request of Grey Bruce Pride.

The Pride flag will fly at city hall for the next two weeks.  Parades and public events will have to wait for another year, but on-line celebrations continue, including a book launch and a virtual Pride float competition.
