The COVID-19 Assessment Centre at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound Hospital has expanded its hours, and is now open Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All individuals who visit the Centre are required to bring and wear a mask or face covering.
The Assessment Centre is located just outside the front entrance of the hospital’s Emergency Department.
With the recent provincial announcement that long-term care and retirement homes can permit visitors who test negative for COVID-19, the demand for testing has increased. Over the last seven days approximately 430 tests have been conducted at the Assessment Center in Owen Sound. This has had a significant impact on wait times, and the expanded hours will allow staff to accommodate more people.
At this time, appointments are not required at the Assessment Centre, but options for scheduled appointments are being planned for the near future.
The current turn-around time for test results is approximately 3-5 days. Test results are available online at the following address:
