On August 19, 2020, members of the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a missing male. Joshua THOMPSON, twenty-seven-years old of Owen Sound was last seen leaving his residence in a white mini-van on the morning of August 19, 2020.

The vehicle was later located at the West Rocks Management Area in the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and an extensive search of the area was conducted.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., on August 22, 2020, Joshua THOMPSON was located deceased at the West Rocks Management Area. His death has been deemed non-suspicious.
