A week after Moody's Investors Service downgraded Ontario's credit outlook, the provincial Auditor General issued her report on the government's budget numbers.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker says the Report found that Ontario's deficit is almost double what the governing Liberals are claiming, pegging it at $11.7 billion. Walker says he is concerned about the  impact of Ontario's debt on the province's ability to borrow and that interest payments on debt "will eat up more tax dollars and more core public services."

"This is just the latest proof of why Kathleen Wynne can't be trusted to put Ontario back on track," Walker says, "This is why we have committed to a full audit of the government's books and we will restore responsibility, accountability, and trust in government."

He says his constituents want to have the "straight goods" about where their tax money is being spent.
