Today, Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker announced investments to help create jobs and prosperity in rural and Indigenous communities. The Rural Economic Development program is an investment in over 80 communities.
Local projects that received funding are:
- The Corporation of the Township of Chatsworth will receive up to $10,000.00 to hire a consultant to develop a municipal brand, provide recommendations for both short term and long term implementation and key messaging for targeted platforms as well as performance measurement indicators.
- The Corporation of the County of Grey will receive up to $15,000 to retain a consultant to prepare a workforce development plan.
- The City of Owen Sound will receive up to $14,500.00 to integrate digital media, creative thinking and face-to-face interaction to attract entrepreneurs to the area as phase two of their “Are You Most” campaign. This funding was approved in April, 2018 and represents half of the $29,000 program for 2018.
- The Saugeen Economic Development Corporation will receive up to $34,000.00 to implement the 'Saugeen Connects' plan delivering on three components including succession matching, immigrant attraction, and youth development and retention.
