Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound PC candidate Bill Walker says a lower small business tax is good news for local shop keepers.
"Here in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, the mom-and-pop stores and family businesses are the lifeblood of our communities. We're supporting them by reducing their tax rate by 8.7 per cent," Walker said. "In addition, we are also lowering their hydro bills by 12 per cent."
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce said that 62 per cent of its members have lost confidence in province's economic outlook, and many are worried about the rising costs of business. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business recently reported that more than one-third of Ontario small businesses are thinking about shutting their doors or moving.
