Ontario's rural communities and agri-food sector hold tremendous promise for driving economic growth for the entire province and for all Ontarians. The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) hasd developed a special election campaign – Producing Prosperity in Ontario – as a framework to provide our key messages to all candidates in the June 7 provincial election.
We believe that distributing economic development around the province – with infrastructure investments in roads, bridges, schools, broadband, energy and health care – we can create new jobs in thriving communities, help ease the strain on the big city issues of transportation and housing and secure a sustainable food system for all Ontarians.
OFA is asking members to tell their local candidates that spreading economic development across the province is the best way to boost the economy for Ontarians living in urban and rural areas.
