Ontario's Gas Tax program is a long-term source of transit funding that provides stable and predictable transit funding for Ontario municipalities. Funding for Ontario’s Gas Tax program is determined by the number of litres of gasoline sold in the province, providing two cents per litre of provincial gas tax to improve and expand transit. 

Owen Sound has been allocated $246,124 for 2019-2020. Gas tax payments are paid on a quarterly basis.
