Liberal members will be deciding June 13th who will be their candidate for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound for this fall's federal election. The meeting will be held at the Harry Lumley Bayshore, with speeches beginning at 7:00, and voting to follow.
The public is welcome to come to hear from the three candidates for the nomination – from left to right:
Rod Anderson, Meghan Lipka, Michael Den Tandt. Only those who were registered with the party by May 14 will eligible to vote. The ballot will be ranked, so if noone receives more than fifty percent of the votes in the first ballot, second choices will be counted. The Party is expecting its largest turnout in many years for a nomination meeting.
So far there are four candidates vying for the seat currently held by Larry Miller who announced earlier this year that he would be retiring.
Danielle Valiquette, a first-term Grey Highland Councillor running for the Green Party, is the only one who has held political office. The other candidates are Alex Ruff, the Conservative Party (CPC), Chris Stephen, the New Democratic Party (NDP) and Bill Townsend, the People’s Party of Canada (PPC).
The federal election will be held October 21.
