Green Party leader, MPP  Mike Schreiner sent the following letter to Premier Ford after numerous healthcare groups including the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) sounded the alarm over the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Schreiner provided the following recommendations:

1. Restrict the commercial sale of PPE and redirect supplies to healthcare workers
2. Mandate the usage of appropriate PPE for all healthcare workers
3. Prioritize PPE supplies for long-term care homes
4. Encourage hospitals and long-term care homes to cohort infected patients
5. Double the amount of funding for PPE from the $75 million to $150 million
6. Work with the federal government to invoke the Defence Production Act if needed
7. Ramp up COVID-19 testing at long-term care facilities to prevent future outbreaks
